Soaring On An Eagle's Wing

Promised…

A dream.

But not guaranteed…

Trying hard to understand
But awfully hard to see

They say that the Garden of Eden is
Just another hazy daydream
That flies
Upon an Eagle’s wing
When it has nowhere else to go

They say it’s a real “long road out of Eden,”
Come,
My friend,
Take my hand,
dear friend,
And soar away with me

We’ll be traveling us on down the road,
Getting us onto the bus,
And somehow,
Knowing us…
We’ll soon be finding us
Some brand new place to land

The horizons out there
Are so much brighter
And all the sorrows
Are so much lighter there
When we be
Sharing our load

Knowing isn’t everything
Sometimes ya just gotta be
Letting go of the other dream
Sort of like,
You know,
Getting on with the show

And we’ll be keeping
Our heart fires blazing
And you and me,
We’ll be gazing
Off somewhere really nice,
As we go…
A’ meandering
Down this different road

And we’ll be getting us on our way,
And we’ll be making us some hay,
Just as soon as we unravel the code.
And a friend is just a hug away,
Because it’s a bright new,
Brand new day
And we done threw away the old

And we’ll be practicing us how to sing
This brand new song we learned to sing

So go and pack your bags, girl…
And grab your hat and boots,
And everything…

And don’t forget to bring the coffee!!!

We’re not in Texas anymore.
