Forgiving Tears

You intimidate me,
The way you stare as you pass me by,
With your funny hats, and past harsh words,
Your awkwardly large headphones,
And your posse of people with torn and colorful pants,

But I must admit,
Your attitude towards me has changed,
I see you smile, not smirk,
You don't bash my mad lack of skills,
You complement what small amount of talent I have.
I must appear cold the way I glare back.

From this moment on,
I will stand bold, refrain from hiding,
I won't shy away when you smile at me,
I’ll try to force a smile back,
Forgetting the humiliation you caused me.
