Bride

I, as a bride, with a groom at my side?

I remember being nervous
just before the wedding service.
'Oh, my God, what have I done?
Am I sure that he's the one?
Do I want to be a wife?
Do I want to share his life?
Do I want this wedding ring?
Am I sure of anything?'

Then his sister spoke to me,
'Welcome to the family!'
and suddenly I knew
this was what I wanted too.

He said 'I do',
I said it too;
with a sweet kiss
and 'I Love you'.

(The rest is private, if you please.
I've closed the door on memories.)

The last two lines were inspired
by the closing lines of the poem
'Saturnalia in Private' by Rainspirit

thanks for the inspiration Renee!

This was indeed the most memorabele event of my life!
