AWAKENING

A yearning starts within my soul, awakening the spirit in me,
Small embers fanned to burning coals, clambering to be set free.
Pulsating threads of memories touch nerves quietened since ages past.
A quivering rises in this breast releasing the raging beast at last.

Soft tears of discontent arise within these eyes so long suppressed,
A plaintiff sigh passed by these lips too long since others they have pressed.
Warmth invades with recalls waif to touch each crucial labyrinth’s rim,
Thus I am once more enmeshed within desires sweet cruel whim.

A quickening of the heart and mind dance with rhythm of grand desire,
This mind is lost within the smoke emerging from the once dead fire.
Alas cruel time with your deceit you have betrayed me in lusts flame.
Thus I weep in solitude, softly, gently call your name.
