First Kiss

That goodbye kiss has haunted me
Throughout these many years
When I think back to younger days
Her face always appears

We were teenagers way back then
After a nasty fight
Where we had hurt each other bad
Then tried to say good night

We looked into each others eyes
Then held each other tight
T'was then I fell in love with her
But I blamed it on the night

We strolled down by the waterside
The moon was bright above
T'was there I kissed her virgin lips
And tried to steal her love

We talked and talked for many hours
While playing in the sand
Then fell asleep.. her in my arms
Her hand within my hand

She was so young and innocent
So beautiful and sweet
I held her oh so very long
My heart fell at her feet

Just as the dawn was rising
Pink sunrise kissed the east
I knew her kiss would last me
For one lifetime at least

We parted with that sunrise
Each went our separate ways
But I knew I'd remember
For all my earthy days

For there is not a man who breaths
Matters not how long his list
Of women known and missed
No one will ever equal

The first one that he kissed!
