Finding Strength
~The Light of Peace~
I've walked alone in darkness
til nothing seemed worthwhile
got tangled in life's seaweed
thought for sure I'd drown
I knew there was an answer
to questions deep inside
then one day
finally realized
I am, Thy Father's Child
at times we fall 'n stumble
can't see the light of day
trudge along hopelessly
in darkness
lose our way
depression, loss and heartache
can hold with nasty grip
when loneliness..embraces
we feel its time to quit
pain and inner turmoil
strangles, takes control
suffocates ones being
devours purest soul
days without the sunshine
nights where shadows lurk
falling
deeper 'n deeper
into the dark abyss
holding hands with devil
he leads against our will
spirit cries, unwilling
to enter gates of hell
when at wits end
look upward
eyes closed
in silent Prayer
release your pain
surrender
hand over all your cares
listen to His whispers
'be still my heart
thou hast known worse
than this'
hold tight to faith
as anchor
it will guide your ship
release the binds
and shackles
that tend to hold you back,
believe in the impossible
let go
set spirit free
reach for His Hand
and follow
dwell not in troubled seas
sort the weeds that fester
to find an inner peace
His Promise ever present
He leaves the rest to you
reach out to Him
in darknees
allow the rainbows hue
listen to the whispers
with hope restored
renewed
'morrows will be brighter
His arms embracing you
