One More Day
An extra day to celebrate, an extra day to sing
An extra day to enjoy the sun and all the day does bring
An extra day to help a friend, or say a word of cheer
God gave us just one more, and we call it Leap Year.
What did you do with your extra day?
The one sent from above ?
Did you treat it like a precious gift?
Passing on His love?
No one else can make a day, a rainbow or a flower
Only God can make the day, each second of each hour.
I heard Him whisper this to me, in the hours early on
“This day is a gift, as is each one, tell others of My Son.”
A day will come in each man’s life
When it is time to go
Then we may ask for just one more day
And the Father will answer “no.”
Then all you did when you were here
Will be your last goodbye
You will celebrate with the Lord above
While friends on earth will cry.
And as we reach that Heavenly shore
We’ll see the Lord and say
“Thank you for your awesome love
please let me stay here just one more day”.
