Our paths did cross
with purpose
a friendship
warm, sincere
across the bridge
of loneliness
built with
sunshine stairs
never passing judgement
instead,
showed love and care
giving strength
and courage
just by being there
we have respect
compassion
can read what's on the mind
allowing space when needed
yet,
always close
entwined

we're soulmates?
our minds work much alike
sharing pain 'n laughter
since we met that night
there is a deep devotion

trust and understanding
bonded from the start
smiles are shared together
as well as bitter tears
