The Price Of Freedom

At the graves of fallen heroes
flowers at their head
stars and stripes forever
for all of those now dead
full of pride and courage
they marched off to war
protecting us on homefront
and foreign lands afar
they wore their colors proudly
for all the world to see
stood for peace and freedom
our land of liberty

left behind their loved ones
each with a job to do
love of God and country
kept them strong and true
side by side with comrades
no tears 'nor
bloodshed spared
guarding and protecting
on land, by sea, in air

flowers placed
reflections
we bow our head in Prayer
tears mix with emotion
for those no longer here
our young and old lay buried
so freely gave their lives
without thought
or hesitation
paid the sacrifice

let us not forget them
they died for you and me
their names engraved
on tombstones
to keep our country free...

When flowers are placed on each grave, be it Memorial Day or otherwise, we'll remember and we'll weep.

Let us not forget those who still suffer from battle scars, both mentally and physically...

Let us reach out to our Veteran' who live in shelters or are homeless...

Let us Pray for those who paid the ultimate price and for those left behind...

~ ~ ~

LET US ALWAYS REMEMBER....
TO NEVER FORGET!!!

To those who serve/have served/will serve,
Thank you, from the bottom of my heart...
