Butttons vs. Zippers

What is it
About zippers?
I really have to ask…
Oh, sure
There are buttons
But they don’t operate
As fast…
In my mind
I pull one down…
Then you
Do one on me…
Yes, it’s true
That each button
Has a hole
But
That means nothing
To me…
For a button
Makes no sound
Although
I sometimes
Do hear a little gasp…
Usually from you—
Sometimes from me
Yet, unlike with a zipper
I sometimes
Lose my grasp...
But then
I get a grip
On my emotions
As you get a grip
On mine…
Yes, it’s true
Buttons are
In their own way good…
But zippers—
They not only work
But also
Sound so fine.

Could have probably given this poem the title of 'Zip a De Do Dah', Button the other hand...
