Pre-Marital Jitters

“I feel for those…
who don't feel this love.”

“For Those? Who don't feel this love?
Those who?”

“Don't feel this love-thing lightly
for there is no heavier burden…
yet, no lighter state-of-being;

Who do I feel for most…
those who do or don’t
feel this love?
Those who don’t.

Feel this love I have for you.
Feel it.
Smell it.
Sense it.
Taste it.
See it.
Be it.

I can no longer be like those…
Those who don't feel.
This love makes me feel complete
yet, at a loss for words
to tell you how or why…

If only I could be
Like those who don't feel this.
Love without reason
or understanding;
Without explanation
or thought.

Those who don't feel this love…
That is who I most want to be like
yet, still be nothing like those at all
at the same time.
Now do you understand?
Me either.”
