IN MY DAUGHTER'S EYES

High heels just a wee bit big
Skirts dusting the floor
Hat so big it hides her face
How could you love her more

in my daughter's eyes

Using Mommy's makeup
Cheeks so pink they glow
Earrings dangle from her ears
She thinks they'll never know

in my daughter's eyes

Lots of perfume she has sprayed
All upon herself and clothes
Would be the first thing that arrived
No matter where she goes

in my daughter's eyes

Stumbles as she walks in heels
Lipstick put on bold and red
Tries to show the tendrils
Neath hat that covers little head

in my daughter's eyes

Must have makeup for the eyes
Perhaps more than she should
She stands back, surmises
In the mirror - looking good

in my daughter's eyes

Decides to wear more jewelry
Sprays a little more perfume
Another look in mirror - smiles
Then leaves her Mommy's room

in my daughter's eyes

Who'll be the first to see her
Will they notice her at all
Has to steady self again
High heels can make you fall

in my daughter's eyes

Feeling very grownup now
Wearing all her Mommy's things
She just loves her Mommy so
Thinks maybe she has wings

in my daughter's eyes

Ah! She hears a whisper
And a giggle too, she's sure
Could it be her Mommy
Seeing her trying to be her

in my daughter's eyes

From out of nowhere there she is
A thing that Mommy's do so well
With such a look of love on face
She knows somehow Mommy will tell

in my daughter's eyes

Yes, tis their little story
That her Mommy will ne'er forget
As she looks at daughter small
She has not one regret

in my daughter's eyes

Bond between the two, you see
Like none ever felt before
Mommy looks at her and sighs
I could not love you more

in your Mommy's eyes

Midi: In My Daughter's Eyes

Written for my oldest daughter's birthday. Taking a walk
down Memory Lane with you Vicki. I am proud of you and
love you so very much. As I have said before, I don't know
what I'd do without you - you and Debbie have been my
lifelines and I love you both so very much. Happy Birthday
Vicki...

With love,
Mama ^j^
