restless yearning
in the cold unfriendly night
from somewhere dark and deep
i hear your voice calling out to me
and i am restless and i cant sleep
i guess i thought your memory
would fade as time went by
but now i find that more and more
i think of you and cry
when i close my eyes i see your face
i know each line so well
your eyes your nose your lips your throat
your smile that can compel
theres a restless yearning in my heart
a mystery that i must solve
is this love and if it isnt
than what does love involve
i see now that i have been foolish
and i was wrong to make you sad
i've just got to know if theres a flicker left
of the flame that you and i oce had
i'm drawn like a magnet to your side
and i sent you this silent plea
i know i hurt you when i left
and i hope that you'll forgive me
although its been years since i've been with you
i still remember your gentle touch
i wonder if you think of me
very often or not very much
just give me a sign if i still have a chance
to undo this terrible wrong
i've done all i can its all in your hands
just please dont wait too long
