SHALL ALWAYS BE

Would we have been together all those years past,
Maybe, but would we have been able to last.
I was lost in uncertainty and crazed emotion.
You were wild and not a care for any notion.

Would we have been together all those years past,
I admit we would have had a fun and wonderful blast.
I was much more demanding and easy to anger,
You were much less caring, and not into forever.

I would have loved you anyway, even then.
I would have carried you deep in my hearts glen.
Yet we needed the time to grow past the uncaring,
To have the love we share now that is so daring.

I love you no matter what you were or will be,
I would have loved you in all the days behind me.
I know you love me and we say what if, and maybe.
We both know that it is now that shall always be.
