Finding Happiness
I was not born
With a silver spoon
In my mouth
In fact we often struggled
We had five kids
In our house
But we had love
And plenty of that
And we learned to chase
Our dreams
Our parents taught us that
I have had my share of struggles
As I’ve walked this road of life
Had my share of ups and downs
My share of pain and strife
But I kept on walking
Kept looking ahead
Searching
For the pursuit of happiness
And I found it
Up ahead
All I ever wanted was to be a
Mommy and a wife
To have my basic needs
And to have love in my life
I never wanted to be
Rich or famous
I never wanted,
to see my name in lights
I just wanted,
a happy loving home
And I have that in my life
I found my happiness
I am content
I could not ask for me
As I have been
Blessed
Yes we sometimes struggle
As many of us do
But we survive,
because we stick together
And our love
Pulls us through
I may not be remembered
By many when I die
But I will die a happy woman
Because loved
Has filled
My life
All I ever wanted
Was to be
Just who I am
Today
I always lend a hand,
to those who are in need
And that makes me feel,
good and happy inside
What more could I need
In life
So I have found my happiness
Some may call it a boring life
But I am happy to be
A mother and a wife
Some seek fame and fortune
Thinking money makes you happy
In life
But money can’t buy
What I have been Blessed with
In my life
