You came to me in a dream last night,
your smiling face warming my heart.
So many words left unsaid,
yet, looking in your eyes somehow,
you know.
I'm scared to wake up,
knowing you won't be there.
Quietly I beg,
'Take me with you,'
but I don't think you can hear me.
This world is unbelievably hard and I feel so alone,
I don't know if I can make it.
I need to walk in your shadow as before,
your guidance leading my way,
your words sober my mind.
Graciously I would follow in your footsteps,
but for now I'm feeling defeated.
I'm doing the best I can,
but I'm lost inside my mind,
my soul is disconnected.
Tears flow like a leaking faucet,
pounding the ground like a hard rain,
I don't want to wake up yet,
I'm holding on for dear life,
I'm struggling to find my way,
without you my world isn't the same.
