the mountains sing
shadows on the hills
the shape of mountains cast across the vale
the daffodils
shake their yellow heads when passing gale
disturbs the still
of dawn,the whippoorwill
sings on.
light between the trees
forest filtered sun falls down to touch
the sleeping bees
that waken with the warmth upon them. such
sweet reverie
of sights, the ridges see
when night
is gone.
for shadows on the hills
all disappear when twilight's pall descends
the sparrow's trills
fall silent as the day succombs. pretends
to cede her will
unto the stars until
the dawn
once more
sends
shadows on the hills
to play a game of hide and seek with light
and banish chills
remaining still left overs of the night
another dawn
the mountains sing as life
carries on.
