Missing You Dear Friend

I have been thinking of you the last few days
Almost a year since our lives you graced

We didn't write real often but when we did
You brought smiles as back and forth we would kid

Remember when I lived in Idaho, described the fantastic view
You wrote asking if I would build on a room just for you

I always asked you how Yampa was doing when I wrote
You replied in each mail to me that “Yampa says hello”, our joke

Each time I wrote with a problem you replied and made it okay
Even when I wrote for others who asked me, you would work to save the day

We laughed when I told you I had you in my mind with a tie and tux
Until I finally saw a picture you posted, we both thought that was just too much

My life changed for the better through your dream, I hold you in my heart
I hope the Lord will let you know how many folks miss you since we've been apart

You are remembered fondly dear Albert, with tears and pain within
But the smiles and laughter always rise to the top, missing you dear friend
