The Down Days
Guided by your strong gentle hand
I know I can find my way back
I should not worry, or get upset
When life has given me an unfair break
You can help me get on the right track
I just need to pray and not fret
Sometimes Lord, each day
Seems so much like the day before
With no new challenge or goals set to meet
We're to discouraged to go through the door
We feel like sleeping the day away
And not try to raise our feet
I'm that way right now Lord
Have been for days and days
When I look up toward Heaven
Only dark clouds overhead I see
I sure hope it's only a trial or phase
Maybe even a rebuke for me
I guess it's just within us
When we feel all washed out
People seem to complain
About everything we do
Our faces wear a frown
Our mouth wears a pout
That's when we need to really
Communicate with you
You have helped me through
Down days like these before
Lifted me over so I could see the light
I'll wait patiently and pray knowing I'm
Guided by your strong gentle hand
That will keep my days from
Looking like the long lonely night
