Treasures of the Heart

Artwork by Oksana Voznyak 'Rest' courtesy of fine-art.artmam.com

She stares in silence at nothing in particular
the burning candlelight in her heart
sheltering her
from the evening breeze

Silken strands of hair tickle her cheeks
instigating the slow and steady blush
of a dozen long stemmed roses
from her lover

Her faltering smile - somehow innocent
just enough to make Mona Lisa envious
and inflame the passions of Don Juan

Silk cerulean swerving and veering
teasing across diamond dust shoulders
then resting lovingly tween
the swell of her breasts

Sweet scent of honeysuckle
softly kisses and then penetrates
the night air

Happening upon the scene
he is rendered speechless
totally immersed
in her sensuality

Magically transfixed
he admires her
ah yes, he counts her among
the treasures of the heart.
