Get Rid Of The Advertisements

We are but moments of flesh
Tied together through memories
Flittering in and out of existence
In the mere blink of time.
Hoping for more,
For something that sustains us,
That satisfies,
We are motivated by longevity
By fulfilling desires of experience,
How long we last in these fragile bodies
Is mitigated by the marks we leave behind:
A poem,
A book,
A piece of art,
A child,
Something that reminds the world
That once, we were here.
Meaningful items of existence
That deserve to be remembered -
Deserve a story to tell to great-grandchild,
A class of students,
A page in history that remains far after we’re gone.
