I am a rock hound

I trip on a rock, and feel like I've been grabbed
I see into the rock
to the distant past
it's making
and shaping
over the course of decades

and I fall into it's spell

Rocks of the earth, the mud is my soul,
droplets of rain, these are my tears,
early morning mist, this is my perspiration
my body is in the leaves of the trees,
my love is all of these
Power my heart with the blood of the earth
Pace my steps with the blowing of the wind
Charge my mind with a lightning bolt
Leave me back 1,000 years
Against modernity, I feel revolt
