Woman

I am beautiful,
full of Creator’s bounty;
Bountiful Cornucopia of Life;
Lifegiver, Bringer of Dawn;
Dawn of Creativity.
Creativity lives here.
Hear me, Women of the People!

Pull from me what you need.
Needy am I, at times;
at times sleeping with fear,
fearful for tomorrow’s child.
Child of our legacy,
see me as I am:
I am Every Woman.

Every woman is my sister--
Sisterhood of commonality:
Teasing, playful, passionate,
passionately aware.
Awareness colors my every step.
Every step brings me closer,
surpassing my own expectations.

Expectations formed in search of truth,
ruthlessly I ferret out.
Outrageous components fit together.
Together we are a masterpiece;
pieces to be discovered again and again.
Gain a fuller perspective of all we are:
We are beautiful!

This is a variation of an echo poem where the ending sound(s) of each line is echoed in the beginning of the following line. Pam & I co-wrote it by going back & forth between us, writing alternating lines.
