Her Voice, Her Song

Her Voice, Her Song

today she walks into sunshine, tosses
time's pebbles into leftover puddles
of sadness, turns her face toward
sweet skies of azure, tastes freshness

in changing winds, and she breathes
deeply of the moment... renewal's scent,
a gentle balm to weakened spirit
and damaged heart, fills the air, drifting

within her scattered thoughts, misplaced
dreams... she hears songs of faith
and promise whisper farewell to yesterdays,
feels their words flow from her soul,

awakened and new, and she listens
to her voice, her song, her beginning,
and realizes she has learned
how to sing alone once more

...and changing winds applaud.
