Lord, who am I?

Lord, who am I?
Who am I that You should
regard me so much?
What have I done that I should
be highly favored?
Am I more righteous than my mates;
Am I so holy to be addressed so?
Far from it!

I used to think I meant nothing to You.
I fasted, prayed, gave almost all I had
in alms at some time,
But it seemed You were asleep or
had turned Your back on me.
I was confused about Your love;
I doubted even Your existence.

I now I understand part of what
You were/are doing....
Preparing me for something great--
Something so big that I can't even imagine.
I asked for a miraculous money to help
pay for my education,
But You rather gave me knowledge
And wisdom to be the best.
When I thought I was lonely and
needed a God-sent girl friend,
You rather sent Your Holy-spirit to comfort me,
letting me know I would rather need a wife
When the time is ripe.....
'Your wife would be better than any girlfriend'

Even though I suffer and starve sometimes,
I have learnt to be filled by the thought
Of tomorrow ,and by who I will be.
I give You my life like
A clay to a potter.
Mould me, shape me and
do with me as You please!

But who am I, Lord
that You should take such
interest in a mere me?
Oh, Who am I?
