THROUGH MY EYES MAMA

Sitting here this morning
In the quiet of the day
Watching out my window
At squirrels and birds at play

but where are you

Seems I've done this many years
Since I was just so small
Things I learned to love from you
It seems you taught them all

but where are you

Looking at the trees sway
Picking flowers - smell them bloom
Soon it will be summer here
If you listen you hear summer's tune

but where are you

Summer has to have a tune, of course
Of its beauty and its worth
Spring and Summer vie in time
For joys they bring to earth

but where are you

We use to lay down in the yard
You taught me how to 'read' the clouds
To see the 'visions' in them
Read their 'stories' right out loud

but where are you

As we both grew older, even yet
We'd sit in the old porch swing
Vowing never to forget
These wondrous God-given things

but where are you

I was there the very day
They dug the grave so low
Wiping grieving, sad, sad tears
Hearing where you were to go

but where are you

As they led me from your grave
They said it was 'all right'
I thought of all the things twere said
As I tossed and turned at night

but where are you

The answer, Mama, of where you are
Was told so very long ago
You told it to me many times
Making sure that I would know

there you are

Your right up there in Heaven
As more people come in
They listen as you stand and play
Your so-blessed violin

there you are

I want to shout and tell them
That's my Mama - can you see
But unlike Mama they cannot
The 'stranger' visiting - just me

there she is

I sit here humble morning
Summer right next door to God
Knowing it is but a veil
We just walk through with nod

she's there waiting

She watches over me I know
Just as she did on earth
That's why I call her Mama
For twas her to give my birth

I miss you Mama

I am here and you are there
One day we will be together
Oh what a wondrous time I know
And Heaven is Forever

Together again

I am a mother now too Mom
A grandma/great-grandma too
Oh how I pray somehow that I
Can pass on some of you

When we were young

It is a different world now Mom
Please keep us in your prayers
And know it won't be long until
We join you there upstairs

Together again

with love ~ ME

I am using this song because I know my Mother
would love it also. I can see her seeing me through
this song, just as I see her and my daughters,
Vicki and Debbie. I love you dear girls....
