Since You've Gone

Close all the windows
Lock all the doors
Let that blanket of dust
Lay unswept on the floors
Everyone knows keeping house
Calls for two
Now these rooms are so empty
In the absence of you.

Once there was laughter
There used to be smiles
Sweet arms to hold me
Love me a while
Money we had none
Troubles, a few
Now, none of that matters
In the absence of you

Why did you do it,
Why did you go
Didn't you love me
I need to know
Daily, there's heartbreak
My life has turned blue
I'll never get used to
The absence of you
