A SIMPLE PRAYER
Dear God as I began to go
To shut computer down
I knew I had to keep it on
I felt like I might drown
I do not like to whimper
Or to talk of being sad
Yet it seems to fill my days
This pain just feels so bad
I really try to just ignore
As I did this morning time
I had a poem I had to write
For it was YOURS not MINE
Of all Your love and glory
And asking other's too
To listen as You whisper
Just as I know you do.
God, now I am whispering
I'm calling out Your name
Please just be here with me
Easing this horrific pain
I know that others suffer
And I pray for those as well
How I wish that You could come
Just sit with me a spell
I know Your there - always
You wipe the falling tears
You tell me not to worry so
Forget all of my fears
That there will be a blessing
That will come my way
You cannot tell me how nor
Can You tell me the day
I want to have the energy
To write here on these pages
Seems I still have things to say
Even though my writes go ages
So, God, please are You listening
Are you being very still
This is Your servant, listener
One of Your many ill
I know that healing's on it's way
And I thank You in advance
When this leg and arm will work
Perhaps we'll share 'that dance'
Please forgive me for asking
And it's not that I don't believe
I know that if I do seek
I am going to receive
So, gone for now - I'm shutting down
Give these blessed keys some rest
But I'll be listening all the while
Thanks be to You, my Lord, I'm blest!
