Mom: For All You Ever Did For Me

What can I say
That has never been said—
Well, if I don’t try
I might as well be dead
Or never born—
You never gave that a thought;
It’s me you lived for—
You Gave—I Got...

You gave me your time—
Your most precious gift;
And when I was down
You gave me a lift…
To Heaven if you could—
At least the stars above…
For all you ever did
Was reflect God’s love...

A mere mirror you were—
I knew your every feeling;
In you I saw me
But you were kneeling…
Praying to God
I would do well in school;
That I not break any laws
That I follow the Rules...

That I have friends
I’d keep for life
And that one day
I'd find a loving wife...

And when you slept
You dreamt for me
And those dreams all came true—
If it wasn’t for you
The me I am, I wouldn’t be.

Rawland Storm

I had written this a while ago, before my Mother passed away, but I try to repost it every Mother's Day. Fortunately, she is still with me in many ways, as I hope your Mother is also with you.
