To find a way

Castle in the shadows tinted by moonlight
Haunting wails of the wind gusts through windows
Ruins of old lay still and covered in moss
Deadening her footsteps as she made her way to the ocean
She can see her prince coming forth on a ship of dreams
The wind catches the sail and she moves magnificantly
He stands on the bow, one hand on the mast
Hair blowing long around his weathered face
Her steps as silent as the dead
She hides behind the castle wall so she may not be seen
The ship has grounded and men are descending
Onto the rocks below to scramble up to the green grass
Her prince stops on the craggy rocks and takes out a scroll
Unrolling it he reads aloud with great sadness
Every month he comes ashore to find his love
Every month she is not there
Her words left rolled and wrapped in a lock of her hair
Is all he has to remember her by
All his heart depends on finding her
His lifeforce is waning
Every time he comes ashore to read her words
In case she can hear him and come forth

She remembers well how they met
He was an artist who painted her portrait
Their hands entwined from the first stroke
Their love sealed forever in colour
Tradgedy struck and he was taken from her
She left her words on a scroll by the ocean
Hoping he would find them and know the meaning
That their hearts would find a way of being together
Love can conquer all, even in the darkest times
Tears spread to her eyes from the memories, she comes from her hiding place
Runs forth to her prince and embraces him
Holding her face, studying her gaze
His eyes no longer soaked with tears, heart no longer heavy
Upon the ship she is taken, without a backwards glance
Onwards the ship sails towards the sun and the green flash approaches
Angels belong in heaven.
