Sunset Fading

Sunset Fading
Sunset fading with thoughts persuading
Another glance, just one more chance
To memorize the crimson skies
That promise naught but beauty brought
Before the fall and midnight's call
Reveals proof of accepted truth....
And I must choose, perhaps to lose
This imperfect view of memories true
My greatest fear I must make clear
Is that choice may cost, my vision lost
So I gather close what is treasured most
And remember too that sunsets' hue
Is brilliant in silence, that sweet quietness
Of a portrait painted with vision tainted
But I make my choice for senses' voice
Demands no less and I confess
That I agree because to see
A sunset fading with thoughts persuading,
Is worth the chance for one more glance
And I'll not regret nor will I forget
How lucky I've been to 'see' beauty within
