Caravan of Broken Dreams

Twas indeed a long journey
Reaching far beyond my endurance
A regiment for Admirals and Generals
Something a casual observer often neglects
They see the Caravan in motion
Yet not knowing the cargo is filled with pain
They watch diligently as the
Proceedings vanish into an oasis
Of forever more
A gathering occurs and tears are
Dropped on a carpet of remorse
Many flags observe the ritual
Of goodbyes

and here I am….

Outside looking in
