When I Believed
When I believed in love
my world was sunny and bright
When I believed in happiness
I never knew a lonely night
When I believed you loved me,
I had hopes for each new day
I believed our love for each other
would never ever go away.
When I believed that our love
would always forever be
No doubts, or any problems
was I ever able to foresee
When I didn't believe in love
happiness escaped my world
a mixture of sorrow and confusion
to me was suddenly hurled.
When I believed in living
and loving happily ever after
My life was filled with mountains
of joy, fun things and laughter
When I didn't believe in the sun shine
the rain always seemed so wet and cold
Alone I faced each passing day,
feeling sad and growing old.
When I believed in God
the one who really loves me
He rescued me and made
my life completely full and free.
He forgave me all my faults
He filled my heart with peace
When I believed and trusted Him
love in my life was on increase.
