fantasy's poetic shore

         artwork by alan bonnefoit 'lydia'

your hand leaves the place
it was meant to live
the spot destined for your caress
yet i still feel your touch
                 now accompanied by my longing
on the blank page of my thigh

the border between who i think i am
and what you make me feel
                 blurs
you swim
                 languorously
in my thoughts

all attempts to winnow fact from fiction
quickly drown
till wearing the plumage of paradise
i fly back to your arms
                 back to fantasy’s poetic shore
