Breathing In The Eons
I was feeling under the weather
A reflection of my former self
Arriving to late to comment
On my own vivacious past.
I began to haunt museums
With historic taste and flair
Breathing in the eons
And rustic fabric air.
I strove to build a family
Right down to the knuckle I bled
My mind became my neighbor
And my head an empty shell.
All those voices withered
Like treason of the heart
The ache of fitting in
Like a dinosaur in a cage.
The time before is growing
Into a catastrophic zoo
Animals act like humans
While the scientist learns to lace his shoes.
