Malachi 3:3 'He shall sit as a refiner and purifier of silver!'
~The Melting Pot~
We all go thru trials and tribulations from time to time. I am no different!
Recently, I came across the above Bible verse and, although I have read it a thousand times, I found new meaning in its wisdom.
I did a little research, wondering just what the purification and refining of silver was and how that applied to me!
I knew there is a reason for every situation the Lord lets us go thru...I was just doubting my calling and MY purpose here on earth....why would the Lord allow one of His children to
have to endure the trials and tribulations I have been going thru if I truly had been called into His ministry.
This is what was revealed to me:
During the refining and purification of silver, the silversmith first places the mined silver stones in a 'pot'. He then holds this pot by an elongated handle over the whitest, hottest flame there can be. BUT he not only holds this pot, he sits there with his hand upon the handle, steadying it so it doesn't spill over and 'spoil'.
As he sits with his hand upon the handle, he also keeps a watchful eye on its contents. He dares not remove it from the flame until he can see his reflection shining in its melted contents...shining, polished and reflected.
Then, just before the flash point of it burning up, he carefully and gently removes the pot from the flame.
I suddenly realized what this verse meant to me!
God has placed my dull and worthless life..my pot..into the white-hot, burning flames of His trials. He then holds onto me, steadying me so I don't spill and waste!
As He sits there, He keeps a constant, loving watchful eye upon me, looking for His reflection in me!
Then, because He has said He will put no more upon me than I can bear....He carefully and gently removes me from His flames...after He sees Himself in me shining for others to see!
It was then that I thanked and praised our Father for placing me in those flames and sitting there with His loving hand and watchful eye upon me!
Lord, keep me in those flames just a little longer! Place me in the center of the highest, hottest flame there is!
Melt this worthless piece of metal into shining, polished precious metal for You!
Let Your reflection shine through me in all I say and do so that the world can see YOUR reflection in me!
Thank you, Lord for all the trials and tribulations You have been throughWITH me! All the fires we have sat through together! Strengthening me, loving me, watching over and protecting me!
May the world see in me YOUR AMAZING GRACE!!
