I ponder the past of when I was just a child
My Daddy kept me in line so I wouldn’t go wild
He worked all day his fingers to the bone
He had a gruff exterior kinda like stone
His hand was there when I was cryin’
And hard as steel when I was tryin’
His words were there for my teachin’
He did do a lot of wisdom preachin’
When Daddy would come home at night
He would sometimes help me fly a kite
He would push me to do my very best
He did so much and didn’t have time to rest
My Daddy was the best in the world
He gave me a cute dimple with lots of hair curled
He told me to be bold and always to try
To tell the truth and never ever to lie
My Daddy kept me from lots of harm
He had a special kind of charm
Giving into the passions of his great quest
I know my Daddy is positively the best!
