You’re Heart

Sometimes I feel
Like I have rocks in both
My shoes
And they are,
weighing me down
And making me sing
The blues

Then I walk a little further
And
Warmth radiates from here
It’s the warmth of your heart
Letting me know
You are near

The warmth I feel
It comes from you
You always pick me up
When I am feeling
Blue

You make me smile
And laugh too
And for that
I thank you

When ever I’m in trouble
Feeling down and blue
My heart, and my hands
Reaches out
For you

Please help me I’m falling
Is what I say to you
And I know,
you will always catch me
Because
You promised to

You promised,
you would catch me
If ever I should fall
You always encourage me
To stand proud and tall

You are my anchor in life’s ocean
You’re my lifeline
When I’m losing hope
And feel as though,
I can no longer stay
AFloat

You’re the sun,
that brightens my day
You come along
And chase away
The gray

You have a way
Of making me see
That life has so much
To offer me

When I want to give up,
and give in
You give me a gentle shove
And make me start walking
Again

The further I walk
The easier it becomes
The rocks that I felt
Were weighing me down
They are now gone
You removed them
Somehow

For more than thirty years
I have counted on you
And not once have you ever
Turned your back on me

You give me a reason to live
A reason to smile
And as long as you walk with me
I can keep walking
For miles
