My Princess

I remember the day that you were born
Over thirteen years ago
As I held you tightly in my arms
Such love began to grow

You have grown into a fine young lady
One that I am proud to call my own
A teenager with needs to express herself
A jewel just waiting to be shown

Over the years lots of good times
Making angels in the snow
Breakfast just the two of us
Throwing water balloons nice and slow

It was great fishing with Grandpa
You even caught a few
He cooked them up all brown and hot
Especially for you

I wanted to take this time to say
How special you are to me
To tell you that I love you
And share my heart for all to see

To my beautiful Granddaughter AAD
