Poor Old Dog Days Drudgery Blues

(Or, I Be Singing Dem Blues AGAIN!)

(Editorial note: All expletives were deleted before this was posted.)

Why must the sun
Be shining so bright?
Why must the birds be singing
In the middle of the night?

Why does the alarm clock
Hate serenity?
Are they just trying to pour torment
All over me?

(Maybe it’s a conspiracy)

What have they got against
Just wanting one more snooze?
Pounding my head on the pillows,
Oh, what’s the use???

I think I’m getting me a case
Of the Doggone
Gotta Get ‘em Up
Drudgery
Blues.

Coffee pot is empty,
My last nerve is shot
Got no pennies in my pockets
And heartache’s all I got

(Insert sounds of loud moans here)

And I just found a hole
In both of my shoes
Turned on the radio
To really bad news

Dayum!!!
(oops, an expletive just snuck in.)

Oh yes, for sure,
This moose got loose
And now I’ve got these
Doggone
Head Banging
Foot stomping
Gotta Get ‘em Up
Drudgery
Blues.

But wait,
What’s this I hear?

Brenda’s rattling pots in the kitchen?

And breakfast is near?

(sniff… is that bacon???)

HOT DOGGITY!!!

Oh, dear friends,
I’m SO outta here…

BRENDA JUST DONE CHASED AWAY MY BLUES!!!

We luvs ya, Brenda!!!

I’ll take my eggs over medium, but be sure the yolk is runny!!!

Huh?

What’s that?

Oh sure…

Scrambled is just fine.

Just lay them in my dish, Sweetkins
