Get Rid Of The Advertisements

Oh No Not That Button

In this world of great technology
All the new wonderful machines
Things we wonder how we ever did without

The computer is so wonderful
Connecting us to unknown worlds
Giving us friendships from around the globe

Sitting here at home in my chair
Writing letters and poetry
To friends and those who love to share

I have one almost finished
Only a few more words to type
And then my fingers do it

Oh why did I hit that button
It's not the one intended
But there it goes, it's all gone now

Every word I had written
If only my mind could remember
Which button I should push now

To retrieve my words gone now
Into outer space I guess
So not to become frustrated

I just gather all my thoughts
Start the poem all over again
And sometimes it seems for the best
