My Home for the Elderly

The most rewarding work I've done
Is looking after the elderly ladies and gentlemen
Watching them laugh and sometimes cry
I know no better job for me

Twenty one years I worked with them
Living in their world where moods change
Being their friends when no one cared
Or came to the doors to visit them

The home was big with a huge front door
Flowers adorned the entrance giving you a sense of happiness living there
So many times throughout the years I have wished for lots of money
To buy a home and give so many a home to end their years

If I won the lottery I know what I would do with it
There is an empty manor house just begging to be loved
That is where my money would go along with myself and staff I could rely on
The lovely ladies and gentlemen deserve to have the best

Activities to keep them alert and outings to show them the beautiful countryside
I know how much they love to talk about the things they did
Their faces all light up when they speak about their pasts
So there I'd be the proud owner of 'A HAVEN FOR THE ELDERLY'

It's a dream of mine Iv'e had for years because I love them so very much
There are so many lonely souls just waiting to be loved
So...if I won the lottery my problems would be solved
The doors of my home would always be open wide and welcoming with a sign that said
'JUST STEP INSIDE AND JOIN US YOU WILL NOT WANT TO LEAVE'
