AS THE SUN DESCENDS

My sister and I used to fight bad.
Any time together was to much.
Our upbringing rough, Mom was sick.
Each envied the other, jealousy abundant.

As seasons dancing across time,I wonder,
what would have happened had we not talked.
figured out our differences and why we fought.
Would I be lost without her, yes I truly would.

We found like night and day we were,
She was able to settle in one place, content.
I wandered, and wild at heart, needed no one.
the attributes of the other we wanted.

Our outlooks on life differed, even in shared memory.
Yet as the sun descends, we found common ground.
We need each other, more than we knew.
Life throws curve balls, enemies become friends.

I am proud to have my sister and her love,
She and I have shared trials and strife.
Yet we come out with many blessings.
The greatest of those is having her.
