American Soldier

Silently, I stand
I hear the blast of guns
I see the soldiers
give their last salute
I stand there
Wondering ,why?

My heart feels the sadness
Watching a family with tiny children,
tears running down their face

His, wife accepting the American flag
That was draped on her husbands coffin
The soldier hands it to her..
She, clings to it like it was him

I see the children salute their Daddy
as he was lowered to the ground
I hear the gasp of his wife
as she whispers her final good bye

I feel the lump in my throat
At, the same time my heart fills up with so much Pride
I bow my head

Thank You, for keeping our world safe.
I'm ,only sorry you had to pay with your life..
God bless you.

Suddenly, a cool breeze
A chill came over me
I could have swore I heard,
someone whisper It was my pleasure..

I'm American..
American Soldier
I fought to make Our Beautiful Land free.

If you would like to do something,
Just say a prayer for my family,
Our troops fighting for freedom,

The Soldiers that died
in the act of duty that includes me..
When you think of me
think of me with pride
not sadness

I gave my life
So Our Country can stay free
I love my country
I fought to keep It free
God Bless America ~The Land Of The free.
