CHAUNCEY BOY - IT'S SUPPERTIME

Oh Chauncey Boy, I see you as you run the glen
It's been so long since you were there, dear one
Head held high and silver coat of fur delights
Now you may roam the trails both day and night

Your Daddy brought you home to me
The perfect place right by the shady trees
We lay you in your afghan, with favorite toy
Put inside a heart and Amber's fur that you
loved so

A picture of the two of you when all was well
When we could hold you both close - sweetest of all
And now we have memories of memories
You were your Dad's and you were mine ever to be
We've cried all day - your Dad and I loved you so
We would have never chosen for you to have to go

Yet, dear Chauncey boy, it was God's choice
Promise, you will listen now for our voices
It won't be long - we'll be right there, tis true
And all those loved in life will be with you

There is a place called Rainbow Bridge
Wait for us there just beyond the ridge
Out of the mist we'll see you run
At last! Tis Heaven and we are all Home

Your Home, our Chauncey Boy, with God
You'll see the Moon, the Stars, the Sun
Heaven was your home before - is now again
God called you home because it's 'supper-time'

@July 2, 2008

Oh my dear little Chauncey Boy how it breaks
my heart to write this. You were our little beloved
silver tiny poodle for 16 years. So much a part of
us that we feel so empty now without you. So
many of your little family and ours have gone
before you. Play in the gardens of God baby boy
and soon your Dad and Mama will be with you
again. We will miss you sorely until then.

You are a child of the universe
No less than the moon and the stars
That is why I chose you, love
To write what we'd call 'OURS'
