A Poem for Kurt

How can you say goodbye,
When someone is already gone,
When someone whom needed support,
Found that they could not go on.

How do you bid farewell,
To someone who is already dead,
Leaving only fond memories,
That somehow hurt your head?

This soulful hurtful feeling,
Which was in your last note,
Now somehow anguishes me,
And tightens around my throat.

You have succeeded where I have failed.
Alas I am the one whom has thrived.
For you found death in one last shot,
And somehow I have survived.
