Cycles Of Life
I do not know the reasons why
We need to die
For life to grow and feed our bones
And for death to come and throw stones
For this world we love and hold
To one day leave us and grow cold
I do not know the reasons why
The sun must rise and fall
The moon wax and wane
And the sea tease the shore
An endless cycle that reigns
Forever in our mortal veins
I do not know the reasons why
The colours of our thoughts
Range from sane to mad
Our hearts in all their moods
Render us comfort and despair
And our souls to know and do good
While the bad taps at the back door
I do not know the reasons why
We need to die
For changes and cycles
To ever flow and move
And for this breath we breathe
To one day fade and leave
I do not know the reasons why
But, I will die one day
And before that day comes
I hope I can hold my lover in my arms.
