Looking Back
Well, lookie here, I'm back again
Just reading through my past
Thinking on my former sins
And those that seem to last
Some can say that people turn
That we all change our ways
Things we try to bury or burn
Still come back with the days
So, who's to say that change is true
And how many can prove it
When each fight that's inside of you
You always seem to lose it
Now in the years of silence
I've learned more than I wanted
In philosophy and science
Answers that I hunted
Ignorance is truly bliss
When unware of things that happen
For not knowing of things you miss
You mind is not so saddened
More the knowledge more the grief
More the wisdom more the pain
Once you've seen there's no relief
You learn to accept the rain
For all that comes has come before
As my journey still continues
Eyes still search for the distant shore
Songs for better venues
With a wave and a bow
I move right along this road
If someone could just tell me how
To figure out this load
