BEAST OF MISERY

raspberry sweet
the tart cataclysm...
rapture loomed
on the fetid breath
of dragon dew...

the arrogant beast
he scarfed the mortals share...
of compassion
until his hideous fashion was all
he would ever declare

locked in the grasp
of his ever-growing ego...
his was the scourge...
the ferment that severed all beauty

the limp repose
of his saffron changing nectar...
from angry crimson to limping yellow
simply moved to bow his head
in reticent recoil...
for the arrogance extended

now rendered ragged
feeling old and haggered
he longed to receive
all that he had taken
with no regard or sympathy...

but no epiphany
was to be
for this beast of misery...
