Just Too Busy

Just Too Busy

All I wanted was a visit, from time to time
I haven’t seen you in quite a while
Not since Christmas as I recall
Still, you say you are just too busy
You can’t even pick up the phone and call
Even when I was the one who did the calling
You would carry on a conversation with others
So, I decided I just wasn’t going to bother
I am not one to beg for anything at all
I think you should know that by now
Even if I were lying in bed too sick to get up
I wouldn’t even bother trying to call you
So, you can just save all of your excuses
I don’t even care about the whys anymore
There may come a day when you need me
Then, we will see how fast you run to me for help
You are so wrapped up in all of your friends
I sure hope they will be there for you in the end
